Cane + Austin Retexturing Treatment Pads Review & Comparison

I never have had a difficult time admitting that I am a skincare junkie.  No, seriously...you should see my bathroom.  I am stocked full of skincare and various samples of skincare that could last me for the next several years (that is, if it wouldn't go bad).  If you come stay with me I am sure that I have an entire skincare regime for your skin's specific needs.  I have probably tried at least one product (or sample) from just about every major brand out there.

When I first saw the Cane + Austin treatment pads I was a little skeptical.  They claim to have the most effective and purest form of glycolic acid available, which is derived from a sugar cane (hence the name Cane + Austin...yep).  They are also said to contain COQ10 which supposedly hydrates and nourishes even the most sensitive skin types.  The clinical trial numbers seemed outrageous too, with 87% of people that visibly noticed a reduction in lines and wrinkles also seeing major improvement in tone and texture.  I had already tried these:

The Alpha Beta pads from Dr. Dennis Gross (which have five different types of acids - glycolic, lactic, malic, salicylic, and citric).  I started using these last winter when I turned 25 and my skin started breaking out.  This treatment claims to diminish wrinkles and breakouts, balance oil, and increase clarity and radiance.  Although the pads did improve my skin tone they did not ever fully clear up my breakouts, in fact sometimes I think they made them worse.  The pads were also extremely abrasive.  Do you really need to use five different types of acid on your skin?  Also, the two-step application process was a little tedious because you have to wait two minutes after applying the first pad to apply the second.  So needless to say, after a few months I stopped using them.

Which leads me back to why I was skeptical about trying the Cane + Austin pads in the first place...but I am so, sooo glad I did.  After only a week of using these (they are safe enough to use twice a day - morning and night, however I've been using them once a day) I have seen a HUGE improvement in my skin.  My sun spots and blemish scars have significantly decreased.  My pores are barely noticeable (even one of the makeup artists at my work said she couldn't even see my pores).  My skin feels so smooth and the best of all....no more breakouts!!!  I almost feel like I don't even need to wear foundation anymore!

I definitely recommend trying these out! My only complaint is that they are a little pricy ($60 for a 30 day supply or $110 for 60), but after seeing the results I am hooked.

Hope you all have a great week!!
